Back in the Game
Finished a new PR for NTM (see current projects), seems I still got it after all. It’s a good first step, a baby step, to progress back into what I always wanted to do. Hey, maybe it’ll even look good on a resume, for whatever places are still hiring non-AI bros. I have a few other small ideas on how to regain my footing, so stay tuned for that.
I’m also focusing on my other personal projects. One of which I’ve been working on since March (just haven’t talked about it here) is a home security camera project with Frigate, where I host it all on a cheap DELL OptiPlex I bought before the hardware crisis for a flip, but kept because I’d get more out of it than selling it at a loss. It took a hot moment to get the configuration right, but it seems to be working right. I’m currently just using its integrated graphics for image recognition, but I might nab a low end card for that, if it becomes necessary. I also just got a Mumble server running on another local machine, might become a good alternative to big corporate VoIP among my friends, we’ll see.
Consider this a brief update. I might add another page/section on this website talking about my miscellaneous projects individually.
